Perry J. dePinho, 80, of Wilmington, DE peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones in the care and comfort of Seasons Hospice at Christiana Hospital on Friday, June 3, 2016.
Perry was born in Elizabeth, NJ on June 9, 1935, son of the late Manuel and Emily (Hanson) dePinho. A veteran of the United States Army, he was a graduate of Clarkson University and earned a B.S. in chemical engineering.
Perry met his wife Sheila in Elizabeth, NJ in the summer of 1961 and they married in 1962. They bought a home in South River, NJ and raised their three beautiful children with great pride. They spent summers vacationing with family in Toms River, NJ spending days at the beach and nights on the boardwalk. He took his family traveling to many other locations near and far, mixing educating experiences along with a whole lot of fun.
Perry was employed with Squibb Pharmaceuticals in New Jersey, and relocated to Delaware in 1986. He continued his career with Frangible Discs in Penns Grove, NJ until his retirement in 1996. He was a lifelong NY Giants fan and was an avid reader.
Above all, Perry was a beloved husband and father, a proud grandfather and great grandfather. Perry was a kind, humble gentleman. He was not only a father, but also a mentor to all of his children. Perry always put his family first no matter what.
Perry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Sheila (McGraw) dePinho; his children, Denise Grabowski (Rob), Keith dePinho (Wendy) and Derek dePinho (Tina); his granddaughter, Jessica Grabowski; and his great grandson, Parker.
He was predeceased by his sister, Delores Langbein.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek onMonday, June 13 from 10:00-11:30AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:30AM, followed by interment in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
