Jack Abramson, 97, of Union, NJ died on Sat., March 9 in his home.
Mr. Abramson was a business executive and engineer, having owned and managed the Interstate Ironworks Corporation in Hillside, NJ from 1935 to 1980. He also was part owner and manager of United Steel Deck from 1973 to 1985. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Newark College of Engineering and was a member of Kiwanis International, the Maplewood Country Club, and AISC.
Born in Newark, he lived in North Arlington and Irvington before moving to Union in 1945.
Predeceased by his wife Lillian (nee Schulter), he is survived by his son Stephen Abramson and his wife Marilyn, his daughter Meryl Abramson, his sister Lillian Applebaum, and his grandchildren, Kevin, Gregory and his wife Michelle, Jeffrey, Jessica and her husband Allon.
Services were held at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ, on Sun., March 10. Arrangements were by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, 2950 Vauxhall Rd., Union,NJ.
