SUMMIT – Summit has announced that it will begin renovation of its Promenade Park located at 424 Springfield Ave. on Monday, May 5. The project is expected to take approximately four to six weeks to complete and will include the installation of lighting, seating walls, landscaping upgrades, decorative walkways, and replacement of a drinking fountain.
During construction, the Promenade will be closed to all pedestrian traffic. Access to all businesses will be from Springfield Avenue.
“This much anticipated renovation project for the Promenade Park will create a useful space for shade, relaxation, a quiet lunch or a cup of coffee,” explained Beth Kinney, director of community services for Summit. “It will be a place that all members of the community and visitors to Summit can appreciate and use.”
Pedestrian access to the Tier parking garage will continue through the pedestrian sidewalk between the train tracks and 47 Maple St., as well as through the pedestrian walkway between 444 and 446 Springfield Ave. and the main Tier garage entrance on Springfield Avenue.
