SUMMIT — The Summit Fire Department reported that units responded yesterday to a structure fire on Dale Drive at approximately 10:30 a.m. after a neighbor reported seeing flames in the windows.
On arrival Summit units found the structure fully involved with fire on the first and second floors.
The Millburn Fire Department was also dispatched in the initial alarm on automatic aid. Recall was ordered by the on-scene officer with off-duty personnel responding and providing additional manpower and apparatus to the scene.
Mutual Aid units from Union, Westfield and Springfield assisted with the fire and station coverage was provided by Mountainside, Berkeley Heights and New Providence.
A Summit Fire investigation unit, Summit Police and Union County Cause and Origin units were mobilized to investigate the cause of the fire and an investigation is underway.
