SUMMIT — The Kent Place Upper School’s sophomore class will host a car wash and bake sale Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Primary School driveway, located off Norwood Avenue.
The event will benefit a charity, to be announced, and a portion of the proceeds will go to the purchase of a senior mascot. In years past, the sophomore class has selected a mascot for their senior year to serve as a symbol of their class’s literary exploration. With money raised from their sophomore car wash, seniors purchase a mascot, which they name after a character from the English literature novels they have read. Past senior mascots include Darcy the Dinosaur, Polly the Panda, and Chili the Cheetah. The senior mascot is an important way to commemorate the girls’ real and literary travels.
