Linden police arrest alleged Walmart shoplifter

LINDEN — On Sunday at 1:26 p.m. Linden police officers responded to the Walmart in the Linden Shopping Plaza, 1601 W. Edgar Rd. on a report of a shoplifter fleeing the store.

Officers were told that a man purchased a Barbie Doll but pushed his shopping cart out the front exit which contained a Gateway desktop computer, valued at $378.

When confronted by security, the man allegedly abandoned the cart and fled into the parking lot towards nearby railroad tracks. Additional officers set up a perimeter and eventually located a man hiding near some parked trailers. He was identified by loss prevention and arrested.

Tarik H. Brokenbrough, 29, of Philadelphia, Pa., was charged with shoplifting and possession of a fraudulent Pennsylvania driver license. He was being held on $10,000 bail pending a court date set for Feb. 28.
