New fun runs planned in conjunction with Walk MS events

NEW JERSEY — A 5K Fun Run will take place at three parks in Northern New Jersey — Oak Ridge County Park in Clark, Thompson Park in Lincroft and the New Overpeck Country Park in Ridgefield Park — on Sunday, April 27, the same day as Walk MS.

No matter your physical level or ability, runners will love this run  through the beautiful paths of the parks. All runners in the community are welcome to register and be part of this new tradition that will kick off the Walk MS event.

The family friendly Fun Run has a $25 registration fee and will have a shot-gun start at 8 a.m. All participants are able to register for the 5K Fun Run as part of a Walk MS Team and stay for the duration of the Walk MS event to follow.

Event Highlights include: 3.1 mile course; Timed run with a shot-gun start; Water and aid station; Commemorative event shirt for all pre-registered participants;  celebration including refreshments and entertainment.

Anyone who loves to run and is over the age of 12 on the day of the event can participate. Participants who are 12 to 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Walkers are not permitted on the course for the Fun Run. The Walk MS event, utilizing the same course, will be a non-timed event beginning at 10 a.m.
