Mildred T. Sabo, “Millie”, 97, of Union passed away peacefully at Cranford Health and Extended Care on November 30th. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at the Church of the Assumption, 113 Chiego Place, Roselle Park on Wednesday, December 11th at 10:00am. Entombment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Born in Irvington and raised in Newark, Millie lived in Union since 1951. She had worked for many years in food service for the Seminarians at Seton Hall University. A great cook, Millie will be fondly remembered for her kindness, devotion to her family and friends and for her love of candy especially chocolate.
Millie was the beloved wife of 70 years to the late William. She was the loving mother of Marilyn Ellwood (Steven), Wayne Sabo (Sandra) and Debra Kwiatek (Robert), cherished grandmother of Scott Ellwood (Sadie), Brian Ellwood, Michael Sabo, Jeffrey Sabo and Daniel Kwiatek and great granddaughter Vivien Rose Ellwood. She is predeceased by her son William John Sabo, Jr and 8 siblings.
