The Cerebral Palsy League of Cranford holds annual 5K Run

downloadCRANFORD — On Saturday, Oct. 19, the Cerebral Palsy League hosted its 11th Annual 5K Breakfast Run at its home location, 61 Myrtle Street in Cranford. CPL’s 5K Run was established to support it’s Adult Services Program.

Nearly 160 runners participated in the race. The first place winner, Nicholas Murphy of Hoboken completed the 5K course in 17:43 followed closely by Ron Leith of Morristown at 19:12 and Connor Fitch of Cranford at 19:58. Connor, age 14 was also the youngest contestant to place among the top runners.

For the women competing, Erin Hughes of Westfield placed first at 22:39. Bill Welsh, age 84 of Staten Island was the eldest contestant in the race.
