SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit College Club is holding its annual book sale from April 19 to 24 at American Legion Post No. 433 located at 357 Elkwood Ave. in New Providence.
Last year, Summit College Club members collected and offered for sale more than 40,000 books. Most hard cover books are priced at one or two dollars, and fifty cents for small paperbacks.
The Summit College Club Book Sale starts with a special day for dealers and book lovers on April 19 with an entry fee of $20. From April 20 to 24 the book sale will be open to all without an entry fee.
The hours of the sale are: Tuesday, April 19, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, April 20, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Thursday, April 21, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, April 22, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, April 23, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 24, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday is also Bag Day when you may fill a shopping bag for $5.
Proceeds from the sale are used to fund college scholarships for deserving young women in local high schools.
The Summit College Club is a branch of the American Association of University Women, an organization that promotes equity for all women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. Membership is open to all women and men holding the associate degree or higher.
