The Springfield Free Public Library will screen four more award-winning documentaries on alternate Wednesday evenings this fall. The next film will be screened on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. and is titled “Theremin: An Electronic Odyssey,” 1993, rated PG, 83 minutes. This documentary is about Leon Theremin, the inventor of the first electronic synthesizer instrument called the theremin, and his subsequent life after he was abducted by the KGB, as well as a history of the instrument.
This movement is directed by Steven M. Martin. The series continues with “Grizzly Man” on Oct. 23, “Thunder Soul” on Nov. 6 and “Stories We Tell” on Nov. 20.
