Rahway man arrested for stealing cancer donations at local business

LINDEN, NJ — On March 21, at 10:45 p.m. police responded to the Dunkin Donuts, 531 N. Wood Ave., on a report of a theft.

Officers spoke to a male employee, 23, who told them that he was alerted by patrons that two individuals just fled the store on foot after allegedly stealing a jar with cash for cancer donations.

Officers were given a clothing description of the men and located two individuals walking approximately five blocks away with similar clothing and stopped them.

One of the two men, Jeffrey A. Fellows, 29, of Rahway, was found to be in possession of numerous dollar bills and change totaling $34.91. He also was in possession of a Ninja throwing star and a knife. Both men admitted to being at the Dunkin Donuts.

After a brief investigation, Fellows was charged with receiving stolen property and unlawful possession of a weapon. He also had contempt warrants out of Plainsboro and Old Bridge.

He is being held at the Linden municipal jail pending the setting of bail this morning. The other individual was released at the scene without charges.

Detectives will begin reviewing video surveillance footage from the business immediately.

A court date for Fellows has been set for March 28.

All persons who are arrested are considered innocent until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
