LINDEN, NJ — At approximately 11 a.m. this morning the Linden Fire Department responded to a fire at White Castle located on the 2000 Block of E. Edgar Rd.
Upon arrival fire crews found a fire in the fryer area of the kitchen and workers and patrons had evacuated the building. The engine companies quickly knocked down the fire containing it to the one area of the kitchen, while the ladder company was able to do a primary search ensuring that no one was in the building.
“Due to the quick response we were able to extinguish and contain the fire to one small area,” said Linden Fire Deputy Chief William Hasko. “However, there was considerable damage and the restaurant will remain closed at this time.”
There were no reported injuries and the fire is under investigation.
