CLARK — Recently, the Cub Scouts of Pack 145 of Clark held their annual Pinewood Derby. Above: The winners of the races pose with their various awards. Right, a set of cars wait for the ‘starting gun’ and a race to begin. Cub Scouts, with the help of parents, build their own cars from wood, usually from kits containing a block of pine, plastic wheels and metal axles and race their cars down a wooden track. All cars must be under the same maximum weight, and awards are also given for various design themes.
