Wednesday night state tournament basketball winners from Union County on the boys’ side included Roselle Catholic in Non-Public, South B and Elizabeth and Linden in North 2, Group 4. Parochial schools St. Mary’s of Elizabeth and Oratory Prep of Summit were eliminated, in addition to Hillside in the Central Jersey, Group 2 quarterfinals.
The only girls’ winner from Wednesday night was Roselle Catholic in Non-Public, South B first-round action, with public schools Union, Linden and Hillside ousted.
There are eight Union County boys’ teams and six girls’ squads still alive.
