Linden standout girls’ basketball player Lewis reaches 1,000 career points

Senior has lifted Tigers to 12-8 start

The newest member of the 1,000 career points club in Union County is Linden standout senior Jada Lewis.

Lewis reached the coveted scoring mark in Linden’s girls’ basketball game at home against Scotch Plains Thursday, which was a 43-42 Tigers win in Union County Conference-Watchung Division play.

Linden, sparked by the outstanding efforts of Lewis, began the week 12-8 overall and 8-5 in the Watchung Division.

Linden will be competing in the North 2, Group 4 playoffs once again and before that the Union County Tournament, which is to be seeded Wednesday morning at Roselle Catholic.

Linden head coach Paul Gorski is one of the six coaches on the seeding committee that will construct the tournament.

Last week’s Linden girls’ basketball home game vs. Scotch Plains was stopped to honor Tiger senior Jada Lewis, who reached 1,000 career points. Pictured here is Jada with her family, Coach Paul Gorski and Principal Antoinette Modrak.
