Cheryl L. Vocht

             May 22, 1959-November 22, 2017
Cheryl L. Vocht (nee Plog) passed away peacefully on Nov. 22nd 2017 at Overlook Hospital in Summit after a brief illness with her loving husband Kevin by her side.
She is survived by her husband Kevin Vocht, her father Harold Plog, brother Tim Plog, sisters Susan Plog and Laura Pell, and three nephews. Predeceased by her mother Florence.
Born in Michigan, Cheryl was raised in Norwood NJ where she graduated from Northern Valley Regional HS at Old Tappan and Berkeley Secretarial College. She worked for Hess Corp. before starting at Schering-Plough/Merck in Kenilworth, where she remained for 28 years as an executive assistant.
Cheryl was an avid reader with hundreds of books, a lover of music and dance in all forms, and someone who always had a smile and a positive outlook on everything. Her love of life and cheerfulness was immediate to everyone who she met.
Cheryl touched many souls during her life, and she will always be in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Her husband Kevin will arrange a gathering of friends and family to honor Cheryl’s life at some point after the Holidays.
Cremation services were private and performed at the Opacity Funeral Home in Kenilworth..
