She was one of our fall cheerleading captains and was a strong leader, always helping break down techniques for the girls to improve their performance, as well as being there as a support system. Audrey always has a smile on her face and loves her sport.”

When and why did you get involved in cheerleading?
“I started getting involved in cheerleading in the third grade because I was fascinated with the sport and watching the high school girls at the Friday night home games.”

How has cheerleading impacted your life?
“Cheerleading has taught me to manage my time with school and eight hours of practice a week. It also allowed me to improve my leadership skills when engaging the crowd, volunteering as a PAL coach and being the captain of my team.”

What achievement in your personal or athletic life are you most proud of?
“I am most proud of my team winning the 2017 State Cheerleading Championship. The team worked very hard for it.”

Aside from cheering, what are some of your favorite hobbies?
“My favorite hobby is competitive sailing at Raritan Yacht Club during the warmer months.”

Has cheerleading taught you any life lessons? If so, what are they?
“Cheerleading has taught me to respect different personalities using their strengths to improve our team. It’s really all about teamwork.”

Has growing up in Cranford shaped you into the person you are now?
“I am a third-generation Cranford resident and I love the small-town feel and the pride people have in our town.”

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
“In 10 years, I see myself traveling abroad.”

    Congrats Audrey! Audrey’s grandmother has volunteered at our non-profit for the past 32 years. Wonderful family!
