You appear to be off to a good start this year. What do you attribute that to?
I attribute my good start to my pitching coach Diana Schraer. She always prepares and pushes me to do well in the off season.

Do you have any goals that you’ve set for yourself?
Yes, I always set goals for myself. This years goals are for my team to qualify for the state tournament, to advance in the county tournament further than previous years, and improve on my stats as well.

How and where do feel you’ve improved from last year?
I feel I’ve improved mentally and physically both in the circle and at the plate this year. The work I put in during the off season with my team has paid off immensely.

What you do think is going to be your most important contribution to the team this year?
My most important contribution to the team this year is definitely making sure I do my part and lifting my team up as well. I have to continue to not let things get to my head on the mound and always make sure my teammates know I have their back.

Are you involved in any other school sports/activities? What is your particular interest in them?
Yes, I do play on the varsity field hockey team here at Union High School. I believe it makes me a very well-rounded athlete and pushes me to work even harder when I’m not playing softball.

Do you have a favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject in school is photography. I feel as if I am always wanting to take photographs of the things around me and I love learning new things every day from my photography teacher that will take my talents to the next level. I am always looking for new challenges.

What other hobbies do you have?
Some of my hobbies are snowboarding in the winter time, taking/editing photographs, and spending time with my friends and family. I love balancing my life between softball, school, friends/family and work.

How do you get ready for a game? Any rituals or traditions?
Before every game I always keep my game face on. I relax myself, stay calm and just play the game when it’s time. I know I always go my hardest because of my love for the game. My team also has a little mascot that we bring to every game and use as a good luck charm.
