LINDEN — On Dec. 19, at approximately 2:19 a.m., a serious motor vehicle collision occurred near the intersection of N. Stiles St. and W. Blancke St. in Linden.
Patryk Plichta, 20, of Linden was crossing N. Stiles St. when he was allegedly struck by a 2002 Nissan being operated by Wendell Simpson of Alpine, N.J.
The victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark and is currently listed in serious condition.
Simpson has been charged with Driving while Intoxicated and was released on his own recognizance. Additional charges may be filed pending a follow-up investigation.
