UNION, NJ — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County will hold the second annual Great Futures College Fair on Wednesday, March 11, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Union Club, 1050 Jeanette Ave., Union. Students will have an opportunity to meet with representatives of area colleges who can answer questions on admissions, financial aid and studies. A representative from United Negro College Fund will be in attendance to discuss scholarship opportunities. Lenny Williams, admissions counselor and professor at New Jersey City University, is scheduled to speak to students and parents about the college admissions process, facts and myths about college, choosing a major and financial aid.
At this time, the following schools have confirmed their attendance: Rutgers, Union County College, Fairleigh Dickinson, Berkeley College, Lincoln Technical Institute, Ramapo College, Caldwell College, Monmouth University, and Felician College. Information from Kean University, William Paterson, and TCNJ will also be available. BeYOUtiful Gifts, Inc. is hosting a Prom Dress Drive during the fair. Students will be able to select dresses, shoes and accessories for free.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County offers youth programs in Plainfield, Elizabeth, Union, Hillside, Roselle and Linden. Teen leadership programs for ages 14 to 18 are available in Union, Elizabeth and Plainfield.
