The Union Post 35 Senior American Legion baseball team needs to win today – Sunday, July 17 – to stay alive in District 2 play at Union’s refurbished Teener League Field.

Union Post 35 lost to Bordentown Post 26 by the score of 17-2 July 16 in the tournament’s very first game.

Hamilton Post 31 then blanked Vailsburg Post 395 by the score of 5-0 in the second game. The third and fourth games scheduled to be played July 16 were postponed due to rain.

That meant five games were on the schedule for July 17 and one more added for July 18.

Union Post 35 will play the loser of the BCAL Ridgewood Rebels vs. Hillsborough game at 2 p.m. on July 17. If Union wins it will advance to Monday’s schedule of games. If Union loses its season will come to a close.
