Union County baseball is guaranteed of having at least two teams play for a sectional championship.
That’s because Scotch Plains is hosting Westfield in North 2, Group 4 action and in North 2, Group 1 play it will be Dayton hosting New Providence.
Three of the four teams remaining in North 2, Group 1 are Union County schools, with Hoboken the other. Brearley is the other Union County squad, which will play at Hoboken.
Six Union County baseball and two Union County softball teams advanced to this week’s – week of May 27 – state tournament competition.
