Summit lax squads going for another title

Mother Nature wiped out what could have been a beautiful day of Union County Tournament baseball and softball competition.

Friday and Saturday morning’s rain forced postponements of the UCT baseball championship games and the UCT softball semifinals – all scheduled to be played Saturday at Kean University in Union.

The UCT varsity baseball championship game is now set to be played at Kean Sunday at 1 p.m.

Top-seeded Cranford will be the home team, while third-seeded Westfield will have its choice of dugout.

Game balls will be provided by the Union County Interscholastic Athletic Conference (UCIAC).
