This season’s Union County Conference baseball champions included a repeat state champion, a first-time sectional champ and a team that finished with the second most wins in Union County.
Cranford won the Watchung Division for the third straight season and finished with a Union County-best 25-1 record. The Cougars also repeated as North 2, Group 3 and Group 3 state champions. They will take an eight-game winning streak into the 2014 season. Cranford has won 33 of its last 34 games going back to finishing the 2012 season with an eight-game winning streak.
Dayton repeated as the Mountain Division champion. The Bulldogs finished 20-5, won 20 games for a second straight season and captured North 2, Group 1 for the first time.
Summit, in its first year in the Valley, won the division with a perfect 10-0 mark. The Hilltoppers went 21-6 overall.
