The Rahway boys’ basketball team captured its own holiday tournament last week by first defeating defending champion Johnson 74-68 and then Gov. Livingston 56-43 in the championship game.
Johnson beat Rahway 36-35 in last year’s final.
Rahway, which repeated last year as the Union County Conference’s Valley Division champion en route to a 21-4 finish, began January with a 5-0 record. Sophomore Nicolas Galette scored 29 points and senior Keyshawn Cummings 21 vs. GL.
