Photo By Patrick Bober Raymond Scheuerer at his home in Kenilworth. At age 18, Scheuerer landed on Omaha Beach in Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944, in the third wave. Having survived the intitial landing, he was later shot in the foot after attempting to move inland from the bluffs.
