SPRINGFIELD — Investors Bank, one of the nation’s major financial institutions, will be honored by one of the nation’s major B’nai B’rith lodges on June 19 at Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael, Springfield, NJ.
Kevin Cummings, president and chief executive officer of Investors Bancorp and Investors Bank will accept the prestigious annual International Citizenship and Civic Affairs Award from Joseph Tenenbaum, President of B’nai B’rith’s Springfield lodge which covers all of Union County and beyond.
‘We are honoring Investors Bank this year because wherever this financial institution has offices it has played a key community role,” Tenenbaum said. “For example, in Springfield, where Investors has for many years had two offices, Investors has long been involved in the community.”
“In addition, we are all indebted to Investors for its major role in the survival of the wonderful Paper Mill Playhouse. Our board felt our award is long overdue for a major organization like B’nai B’rith to honor Investors and its officers. As such we are joining organizations such as Fortune and Barron’s Magazine s which last year singled out Investors for praise,” Tenenbaum added.
Cummings has held the bank’s top positions since January 1, 2008. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since July 2003. Prior to joining Investors Bank, Cummings had a 26-year career with the independent accounting firm of KPMG LLP, where he was a partner for 14 years.
