“Maggie was the Union County Champion in the 100-yard butterfly and finished second place in the 200-yard freestyle. Cranford has not had a Union County swimming champion since 2015, when Julie Byrne won the event. She has also qualified for the High School Meet of Champions being held on March 2 and 3.”

What is your favorite part of girls swimming?
“The camaraderie.”

In what way has the sport benefited you?
“The sport has taught me discipline and time management.”

What is your biggest challenge in swimming?
“Definitely waking up early for practices.”

How do you get ready for a swimming meet?
“I practice the race in my head days before the meets.”

What’s your favorite memory of this season?
“The Union County Championship. It was a very competitive and fun meet.”

Who are your favorite professional athletes?
“Natalie Coughlin and Nathan Adrian.”

What is your favorite subject in school?
“English.”

What other hobbies do you have?
“I like to teach swim lessons and babysit.”

What are your plans after high school?
“I would love to swim in college.”
