Roselle Catholic boys’ soccer blanks visiting Union Catholic – sparked by juniors Altamirano and Milano – to improve to 5-1

Lions play at UCC-Valley Division foe Brearley Thursday night

UNION CATHOLIC - 3Roselle Catholic junior forward Antonio Altamirano connected off an assist from freshman Billy Carvalho for the only goal in the Lions’ 1-0 boys’ soccer triumph vs. Union Catholic at Chakey Field on Tuesday.

Junior goalie Anthony Milano, in his first season as a varsity starter in net, made five saves for the shutout as Roselle Catholic improved to 5-1.

In RC’s previous game, Altamirano had a hat trick to help the Lions defeat cross-town rival Roselle, 4-2, at Wilday School.
Altamirano spearhead an attack which seized a 3-0 halftime lead and placed 16 shots on goal. Senior Tomas Carvalho also scored for Roselle Catholic.

The Lions shoot for their third straight victory Thursday night when they travel to Kenilworth to face Union County Conference-Valley Division rival Brearley under the lights at 6:30.
