Dayton football hosting Bernards moved to Friday at 4 p.m.; First game on new Field Turf field postponed by thunder and lightning

SPRINGFIELD – The Dayton football team had its season-opening game against Bernards Thursday night postponed because of thunder and lightning.

Now the first game to be played at the new sports complex on school grounds is scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m.

The superintendent of schools said that the opening ceremonies would not take place on the new Field Turf Field.

Linden’s home game against North Hunterdon was moved to Friday at 4 p.m. at Cooper Field.
