UNION — On Wednesday, June 10, The Rotary Club of Union will be hosting its annual Eloquence Soiree at the Galloping Hill Inn in Union.
The Eloquence Soiree celebrates students from Union High School who compete in their annual Speech Contest for scholarships. That evening, the club will present the Rotary Excellence in Education Award to Ron Rago, supervisor of the Visual & Performing Arts for the Union Township Board of Education and Captain Scott A. Davis the administrative commander for the Union Police Departments DARE Program.
Union Rotary will be honoring their commitment to education and longstanding support of Rotary’s Marvin Orella Speech Contest.
The Speech Contest is entering it’s eighteenth year, and through the generous support of those that have attended the event, Union Rotary has been able to provide $90,000 in scholarships for local students since the contests’ inception in 1997.
This event starts at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited to the open house to the public to hear the speeches and to celebrate as the winners are announced.
