UNION — The Township of Union Veteran’s Alliance 2013 Memorial Day Parade was held on Monday, May 27, at 10 a.m. The parade began at Stuyvesant and High avenues and there was an extended parade route in front of Connecticut Farms School, and small American flags were placed at grave markers in Tom Mahoney Military Park, near the school. Marching were floats, Clydesdale horses, military units and military vehicles, motorcycles, the Denville string Band, Civil War reenactors and many civic and youth organizations. Residents were easily able to set up a lawn chair near Pearl Harbor Circle to see the grandstand. There was also live cannon fire during the ceremony at the end of the parade at Honor Roll Park.
