Emergency crews rescue driver from Parkway crash

UNION, NJ — Fire and emergency crews work for 15 minutes to extricate the driver from a sport utility vehicle that crashed at the Union Toll Plaza on the Garden State Parkway during morning rush hour Monday, April 15.

The vehicle hit the toll booth barrier, flipped onto the driver side and came to rest in a toll lane. The driver was the only one injured in the crash and was taken to University Hospital in Newark and his condition was not immediately known, according to fire officials.
