The Linden Police Department recently used a $25,000 donation from Phillips 66 Company’s Disaster Relief Fund to purchase a mobile generator and trailer. The generator was purchased from Power Innovations Inc., of American Fork, Utah. As part of the agreement, the company agreed to paint and customize the generator for the police department at no charge.
The donation was made to the police department in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, when emergency workers had to scramble to borrow portable generators from other agencies to use as needed. This 65-kilowat generator can supply enough power to generate electricity for a small building, if needed. The generator was also recently put on display at the Police Exposition in Atlantic City in late June.
