Linden man charged with exposing himself to children

LINDEN — A Linden man has been arrested and charged with exposing himself to no fewer than three children during the course of five months, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace Park announced.

Franklin Parin, 69, is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and three counts of fourth-degree lewdness. Bail for Parin was set at $200,000 with no cash alternative by state Superior Court Judge Robert Mega.

The case was referred to the prosecutor’s office by the Linden Police Department earlier this month.

A joint investigation involving prosecutor’s office Detective Cassie Kim and Linden Detective Steve Zevlikaris revealed that while three separate male victims walked home from school in front of Parin’s house on various days dating from Dec. 2013 until April 2014, he would allegedly run to a window nearly nude and on some occasions act in a sexually explicit manner, according to Union County Assistant Prosecutor Jillian Reyes, who is prosecuting the case.

Parin was arrested at his home on West Price Street in Linden Tuesday afternoon. He has been ordered not to have any contact with any of the young victims.

Anyone with additional information about this matter is urged to contact Detective Kim at 908-965-3886.
