Linden Fire Department battles brush fire near NJ Turnpike

IMAG0400 IMG_6409LINDEN, NJ — The Linden Fire Department received a call at approximately 2 p.m. today reporting a brush fire on PSE&G Property located at 4001 S. Wood Ave.

Upon arrival engine crews found an area of the brush burning. The area was under high voltage lines between PSE&G property and the NJ Turnpike. The crews had trouble accessing the swampy area but were able to quickly get the fire under control.

Due to the close proximity to the PSE&G switch yard a full response was required. Mutual aid from Rahway, Roselle and Cranford was used to cover the city during the fire.

There were no injuries reported during the fire.
