LINDEN –On Oct. 20, at 12:48 a.m. police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Passaic Avenue on a report of shots fired. Arriving officers located a victim, a 26-year-old male, of Elizabeth, who told police that he and a friend were walking on Passaic Avenue and Peter Street when he heard gun shots.
He then ran for cover at a nearby friend’s house on Passaic Avenue when he observed two men running from the 1100 block of Dill Avenue to the 1100 block of Passaic Avenue. He then heard additional gunshots and felt a sharp pain in his shoulder and realized that he had been shot.
He described the two men as black, age 20’s, both with dreadlocks, one was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and the other had a white T-shirt and blue jeans. The victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his upper arm.
