LINDEN –On Oct. 24, at 3:20 a.m., police responded to the Exxon station, 11 E. Edgar Rd., Linden, on a report of a dispute involving a taxi driver.
Officers spoke to the taxi driver, age 35, who told them that he was hired to drive Nedeski to Edison. During the ride, Nedeski allegedly refused to pay the entire fare until he reached his destination and began to curse at the driver.
The driver then pulled over to let him out at the Linden gas station, refusing to take him to Edison. Nedeski then paid the driver his fare, but told him he was going to hire a new taxi driver because he didn’t like him. Nedeski then allegedly demanded that the police find him a taxi and walked away from the scene.
During the next 20 minutes, Nedeski made numerous 9-1-1 calls to dispatchers demanding that they send him a new taxi to take him home to Edison. When officers located him near the Benedict Motel, they advised Nedeski to stop calling the 9-1-1 line.
He then allegedly cursed at the officers and told them he would continue calling the emergency number until a taxi took him home. At this point, he was placed under arrest. Nedeski then allegedly began to push the officer away from him and refused to place his hands behind his back. He was then pepper sprayed and handcuffed.
Nedeski was charged with disorderly conduct and making a false 9-1-1 call. He was being held on $1,000,00 bail pending a court date set for Oct. 31 in Linden Municipal Court.
