In Miss Kelly Williamson’s fifth-grade class at Valley Road School in Clark, the students wrote book recommendations for some of their favorite books and their summer reading books. The book recommendations were placed on a bulletin board for the students to use as a reference. Throughout the year, students can visit the bulletin board and review their peers’ recommendations. These recommendations are a great tool for the students. They allow the students to learn about books that they may be interested in. The book recommendations also provide the students with the opportunity to discuss, critique, and evaluate books. The students will continue to review books that they read at home and at school in order to write recommendations to share with their peers.
