TRENTON — The New Jersey Legislature, by joint resolution of the State Senate and Assembly, have declared Nov. 9, 2013 B’nai B’rith Day in the Garden State in honor of the 170th Anniversary of the founding of B’nai B’rith.
Mark Samuel Ross, Esq., the President of the Tri-State Region of B’nai B’rith secured the joint resolution with the assistance of Sen. Thomas Kean, Jr., Assemblyman Jon Bramnick and Assemblywomen Munoz. The resolution recognizes the accomplishments of B’nai B’rith over the past 170 years and its contributions to New Jersey and the nation.
Gov. Christopher J. Christie’s office has confirmed that the governor will be issuing a Special Letter Of Commendation to B’nai B’rith as well. Also, the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders issued a proclamation on Oct. 10, also recognizing B’nai B’rith on its 170th anniversary and setting Nov. 9, 2013 as B’nai B’rith Day in Union County. In addition to Union County, Springfield and Monroe have also issued proclamations recognizing and honoring B’nai B’rith.
Local members of B’nai B’rith have provided countless hours of service to local projects to better the communities in which they live, including the Annual Jewish Fair and Expo held each year since 1972, originally held at the Garden State Arts Center in Holmdel, and currently held in Union.
