Elizabeth train station reconstruction under way

A $71 million renovation to Elizabeth’s train station will include several improvements, including new buildings on both the northbound and southbound sides, longer platforms that can accommodate 12-car trains, restoration of the existing pedestrian tunnel and new platform canopies and climate-controlled platform shelters. The project was approved by NJ Transit in the spring of 2018 and is expected to be completed in 2022.
