Marie Elizabeth Krause, nee Hochdorfer, a former resident of Union, NJ passed away at her home in Wilsonville, OR on August 2, 2013. The youngest of three children, Marie was born in Newark, NJ, on September 20, 1957 to Joseph and Mildred Hochdorfer, and was raised in Union. She graduated from Archbishop Walsh High School in Irvington, NJ, in 1975.
She married Anthony M. Krause on June 14, 1980, at Holy Spirit Church in Union. The couple settled in South Brunswick, NJ, where their children were born. The family moved to Oregon in 1994. She was the office manager for Dennis Combs Agricultural Services in Lake Oswego, OR for 15 years. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Tualatin, OR and was a volunteer with the local St. Vincent de Paul Society. Her interests included reading, travel, and evening walks with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Anthony Krause of Wilsonville; son, Andrew Krause of Los Angeles, Calif; daughter Stephanie Krause of Wilsonville; grandson, Joseph Krause of Wilsonville; brother, Joseph Hochdorfer of Colchester, Conn.; sister, Elaine Gilbert of Highwood, Ill; and 24 nieces and nephews. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her for her sweet and generous spirit; her perseverance, dedication, and work ethic; and her cheesecake recipe.
