Upon arrival engine crews found an area of the brush burning. The area was under high voltage lines between PSE&G property and the NJ Turnpike. The crews had trouble accessing the swampy area but were able to quickly get the fire under control.
Due to the close proximity to the PSE&G switch yard a full response was required. Mutual aid from Rahway, Roselle and Cranford was used to cover the city during the fire.
There were no injuries reported during the fire.
