Linden library to begin children’s summer programs

LINDEN — Registration for Linden Public Library summer reading club, “Fizz, Boom, Read,” has started. Sign up in the Children’s Room at the library.

For the club, children read books, write down the titles and are able to win prizes. If a child does not know how to read, they can win prizes when an adult reads to them. A parent or guardian must come in person to register each child. The child does not have to be present.

The programs are intended for children who are at home for the summer. Do not bring organized groups such as camps, preschools, or day care groups to register.

The library will have a special music concert to start the summer. It will feature a rock band, MonkeyMonkeyMusic, led by Meredith LeVande, who has a PBS series featuring her music. The concert is free, but registration at the library  is required.

There is a new session of “The Terrific Toddlers” starting Thursday, July 3, at 10:30 a.m.  “The Terrific Toddlers” is a group for babies through age 4. Watch for the second children’s performance event in late July.

For more information, pick up the Summer Program flyer at the library, 31 E. Henry Street, off Wood Avenue, or email the children’s librarian, Karen Gray at [email protected].
